In pics: Jason Day shows off his "amazing" Presidents Cup special shoes
Jason Day showed off his brand-new shoes ahead of this week's Presidents Cup. The Australian golfer is gearing up to compete in the prestigious team event, which starts on Thursday, September 26, in Montreal. He will be playing for the International Team.
The teams have arrived at the venue to begin their practice rounds before the tournament officially begins. Amid the preparations, Day shared a few pictures of his shoes for the week.
The Aussie took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to showcase the pictures and praised the work done by Payntr Golf on his shoes. The shoes are beautifully designed, available in two colors, white and black. The soles feature golden lettering with a large "X" in the center.
Sharing the pictures of the shoes, Day wrote,
"Closer look at the amazing work @payntrgolf did for this weeks @presidentscu 💨"
Jason Day will be joined by Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, Tom Kim, Byeong Hun An, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Si Woo Kim, Min Woo Lee, and Taylor Pendrith, on the International Team.
Meanwhile, Team USA's twelve players are Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, Sahith Theegala, Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Brian Harman, Russell Henley, and Max Homa.
The Presidents Cup is a four-day event. It will feature fourball and foursome matches over the first three days, and on Sunday, all players will compete in head-to-head singles matches.
"The Aussies are ready" - Jason Day offers sneak peek into Presidents Cup preparation
A few days ago, Jason Day shared some pictures of his practice round from the Royal Montreal Golf Club on his Instagram account. He was joined by fellow Australian players Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott, who will also be playing for the International Team at the Presidents Cup.
Day shared pictures of the three on the greens as they went through their practice rounds, writing in the caption,
"Two vets and a rookie. The Aussies are ready for @PresidentsCup 🇦🇺 #IntlTeam."
Day last played at the BMW Championship, finishing T33, and thus missing out on securing a spot in the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings and the chance to play in the season-ending Tour Championship.
Jason Day was disappointed with the finish but remained hopeful for the Presidents Cup. He shared a post on his X account after the BMW Championship, writing,
"Gutted to have the season come to end but thank you to all the fans and sponsors throughout the year! On to the @presidentscup @presidentscupintlteam 👊🏽."
Notably, Day has played in 20 events this year and made the cut in 17. He has only had four finishes in the top 10 this season on the PGA Tour.
