"It's more than just golf"- Lilia Vu prioritises Olympics gold 'a little higher' than a major victory, sets sight on winning at the Paris Olympics

After finishing T12 at the CPKC Women's Cup, Lilia Vu's next assignment comes at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Vu will represent Team USA along with Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang. The trio will be seen in action at the Le Golf National from Wednesday, August 7.

On Tuesday, Lilia Vu spoke about the importance of winning an Olympic medal. In the press conference ahead of the Women's Golf event, Vu said she prioritizes winning an Olympic medal over winning a Major. The 5-time LPGA Tour winner said:

"To me, an Olympic Gold would rank a little higher than a Major. I think in the sense that you're playing for your country and it's more than just golf. It's the Olympics which is the best athletes all over the world."

You can check out what Lilia Vu said about winning an Olympic medal over a Major in the tweet below:

In her five-year professional career, Lilia Vu has won 2 Major championships. Both her Majors came in 2023, first with the Chevron Championship and then the Women's British Open.

The 2024 Olympics will be the first time Vu will make an appearance at the games. It will be interesting to see if she can win a medal for Team USA.
