“It’s unbelievable: Charley Hull gains new-found respect for fitness racing after coming 3rd in her fist ever simulation
Last year, Charley Hull participated in the fitness competition 'Hyrox'. The English professional golfer put in a strong time, so much so that the Hyrox officials are excited to bring her back for the second time this summer.
The official account of Hyrox shared an Instagram post in collaboration with Hull. When she was asked about her experience being at Hyrox, she explained her excitement.
"It's unbelievable. I enjoyed it so much. My trainer, she's like, competes in high rocks all the time, like she's on the best in the world, and to actually have a go at it. I think I've done it in an hour and say what [31 minutes] but I had then a five minute penalty because I forgot. I didn't realize to do one more lap with my five minute penalty. So it was good. I really enjoyed it."
Charley Hull completed the whole session in one hour and 31 minutes after which she got a five minute penalty as she missed a lap. Earlier, she had revealed that her hyrox session included a 1 km run, followed by a 1 km ski, then again a 1 km run, followed by a 50m sled pull (102kg). Another 1km run was followed by a 50m sleep pull (78kg), a 1 km run, a 1km row, 1km run, 200m kettle bells farmers carry (16kg each arm), 1 km run, 100m sandbag lunges (10kg), 1km run, and 100 reps of wall balls. She ended the session with 10km of running.
Hull also credited her trainer Kate Davey, whom she often mentions in her social media posts while performing new challenges at the gym. Recently, she gave a sneak peek of her Saturday morning routine to her fans on Instagram.
Charley Hull's workout routine at the gym
On January 11, Charley Hull shared an Instagram stories post with her 711k followers. She was seen at the gym hitting new sets of exercises with a weighted ball. She also tagged Kate and listed her workout routine in the caption.
Added to that on January 10, Hull set the bar high by running a casual 10k. Notably, Hull took less than an hour to complete.
"Nice 10k run this morning, post flight. Can't wait to train with precision golf Kate, later."
Although the next LPGA Tour tournament will start on January 30, Charley Hull's preparations for the new season are underway. Since joining the LPGA Tour in 2015, Hull has made her mark by winning two titles and finishing in the top 10 on 38 occasions. The upcoming LPGA Tour season is going to be crucial for Hull to maintain her status as one of the top players in the sport.
