Jason Day's Masters' sweater auctioned off for $18,000
At the 2024 Masters, Jason Day made the headlines by wearing a sweater ahead of Round 2 which was played on Friday. Day, wore a white sleeveless top with the wording, "Malbon Golf Championship." While images of Day wearing the outfit went viral, when he began playing Round 2, Day was not seen wearing it.
The American golfer later shared that officials at Augusta asked him to remove the sweater. While Day's sweater did not make the cut at the 2024 Masters, it recently found a buyer as the sweater was auctioned off. The garment was sold off for $18,000 at a private auction.
Brighter Days Foundation, which supports children in Ohio, will receive the $18,000 raised by selling the iconic sweater. While Jason Day's sweater at the 2024 Masters made noise, the PGA Tour veteran was also praised for wearing baggy trousers on social media.
