Joel Dahmen engages golf community with fantasy football question

Joel Dahmen has a pertinent question for his followers on social media: who should he start in fantasy football this weekend? In most leagues, the playoffs are officially underway this week, so it's an important time for Dahmen and everyone else to get their lineups right.

Dahmen's question centers around the quarterback, which is the most important position in football. In fantasy, it can be the highest scorer on any given day, and unless players have the top-ranked players, it can be hard to pick the right one.

The golfer initially asked if he should start Cooper Rush, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, or Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers. He also threw in Cleveland Browns star Jameis Winston as a third option.

Love is the most established and one of the NFL's highest-paid players. Rush and Winston are backups pressed into action, but Rush has the Carolina Panthers and their league-worst defense on deck.

While the PGA Tour is currently on hiatus, Dahmen is seemingly spending his time trying to make sure he gets as many fantasy points as he can. With a trip to the championship later this year on the line, it has never been more important to ask the kind of questions Dahmen is.

The community was split on the options, with several highlighting Love's overall status as a reason to choose him.

When Dahmen asked about Winston, one fan chimed in that he was a surefire option.

It remains to be seen what option the PGA Tour star is going to go with this weekend.

Joel Dahmen opens up on grind to remain on the Tour

Joel Dahmen is currently ranked 118th on the FedEx Cup points list, meaning he falls inside the 125 range to keep his membership. After 2025, only the top 100 get to stay. For now, Dahmen remains a member of the PGA Tour.

Before the World Wide Technology Championship, Dahmen knew he needed a good outing to move up and keep his spot on the Tour. He said then (via the PGA Tour):

“I think it would mean more this year, just the grind that it's been. Golf has been relatively easy for me for five years. Haven't really been in this position before … It's really hard to keep grinding when things aren't going your way."

He added that his story wasn't finished and that he appreciated the support from everyone around him:

“I know that (caddie) Geno (Bonnalie) is doing a great job about just going about our business. My wife is amazing about pretending everything is OK. And everything is OK. It's not like it's the end of the world, but I want to play good golf and I want to be out here on the PGA Tour.”

For at least one more year, Joel Dahmen remains a full-time member of the PGA Tour.
