John Daly reveals that he will be appearing in Happy Gilmore 2- "We're getting it done"
US golfer John Daly has always been the showman of the sport with his flamboyant personality. He recently revealed that he has a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 which is set to release on Netflix.
While the exact nature and length of Daly's role in the Adam Sandler starrer is still under wraps, the golfer confirmed his appearance in the film to Mike Gunzelman of OutKick in an interview recently. The 58-year-old even disclosed an approximate timeline of the release.
"I've already filmed. We're getting it done. Coming out on Netflix, maybe in March, April of next year,"
Happy Gilmore 2 is a sequel to the 1996 sports comedy of the same name. It revolved around an aspiring hockey player who started competing in professional golf tournaments to make some money to stop the foreclosure on his grandmother's house.
The eponymous character soon discovers a talent for golf. The production of the sequel began in early September. Along with Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald are set to reprise their roles in the film.
John Daly's presence in a sports comedy about golf has already raised excitement levels amongst fans across the world. However, Daly is not the only sports star to make a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2.
Who is making a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2 along with John Daly?
Happy Gilmore 2 is looking to be a star-studded affair, with most of the original cast members returning and some thrilling cameos planned. While it was recently revealed that John Daly will be making a cameo in the Netflix film, another cameo has people equally excited.
According to reports, NFL star Travis Kelce will also make a cameo in the film. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is not new to the world of television, and more recently, he made a surprise appearance on girlfriend Taylor Swift's Eras Tour show at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Kelce is also no stranger to golf, as he was a part of The Match in 2023, where he paired up with teammate Patrick Mahomes and defeated Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
John Daly's other artistic endeavors include his career in music. The veteran golfer has released three albums: 'My Life', 'I only know one way' and 'Whisky & Water'. He also released a single called 'Hit it Hard' in 2014 and appeared in Kid Rock's song 'Half Your Age'. Daly had also provided backup vocals on the latter.
Apart from the John Daly and Travis Kelce Grammy award winners Bad Bunny is also expected to make a cameo in the movie.
