John Daly shares ‘petition’ to make him the US Presidents Cup Team captain - “Let’s start a movement boys”

John Daly has never played in the Presidents Cup, but he wouldn’t mind leading the U.S. team in the future. Recently, he endorsed a petition to make him the US team captain.

The Presidents Cup began on Thursday, September 26, at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. Team US took a 5-0 lead over the International team after the four-ball session on Day 1.

On Thursday, the Instagram account Full Send Golf shared a post to raise a petition for Daly to become the Presidents Cup captain. The golfer also shared the post on his Instagram story.

"Let's start a movement boys," he wrote.

As for the Presidents Cup, the second round of the event will be played in the foursome format. The hosts will look to recover after an early setback. However, there are still many points left to play, giving them a chance to turn the match around.

John Daly played 15 events on the PGA Tour Champions this season and failed to make even one top-10 finish. The T22 finish at the American Family Insurance Championship was his best finish. He is currently ranked 104th in the Charles Schwab Cup.

Besides, the 58-year-old golfer also made appearances in two Major championships but pulled out of them after the first round.
