Jon Rahm reminisces about beating Tiger Woods at the Ryder Cup on the same course as the 2024 Olympics

Jon Rahm will soon be playing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing Spain. Golf at the 2024 Olympics will be held at the Le Golf National, the same golf course where Rahm defeated Tiger Woods at the 2018 Ryder Cup.

The 2018 Ryder Cup was won by team Europe headed by Thomas Bjorn. It was also the first time that Jon Rahm made the Ryder Cup team, where he played three matches and finished with a record of 1-2-0.

The one point Jon Rahm won was from his head-to-head match with Tiger Woods on the final day of the Ryder Cup. Rahm won the match 2&1, defeating the 15-time major champion on the 17th hole.

Ahead of his return to Le Golf National for the 2024 Olympics, Rahm looked back on his victory at the 2018 Ryder Cup. Speaking ahead of the LIV Golf UK event, Rahm said to the media, including Sportskeeda:

"It was my first ever Ryder Cup point, so it ranks very high. Didn't have my best week, and I got carried by Rosey on the first match and we lost on 18 and Poulter kind of carried me in the second one. We lost to a great Jordan Spieth/Justin Thomas duo, and to win my first Ryder Cup point on Sunday against Tiger Woods, it's quite unique. So yeah, it's going to be very high up there."

Rahm and David Puig will represent Spain at the 2024 OIympics, with the action set to begin on August 1.

Jon Rahm's dream to represent his country at the Olympics comes true

60 golfers from across the world will soon be teeing it off at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Rahm was ranked No. 9 in the world, securing his place at the presitigious event. For the Spaniard it is a dream come true to represent his country.

Speaking about going to the Olympics and his ambitions for the event, Jon Rahm said the following (media including Sportskeeda):

"It's arguably one of the most impressive feats in sports, to own a gold medal and earn a gold medal is something that very few people in history can do. To be able to add to your country's medal count is something special. Yeah, it's basically a dream come true. It's a dream that became a possibility only eight years ago for most of us, so it's quite special."

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa will be representing Team USA. Other notable golfers who will also be a part of the field include Rory McIlroy, Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, and Tommy Fleetwood.

Xander Schauffele is the defending champion for the event, with Rory Sabbatini taking silver and CT Pan taking bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.
