Jon Rahm yet to arrive in Pinehurst for the US Open amid foot injury crisis: Reports
Following his injury during LIV Golf Houston, Jon Rahm has yet to make it to Pinehurst No. 2 ahead of the US Open. As per reports, he didn't arrive on Monday, June 10, and is not expected to be there the following day either.
The US Open 2024 is set to take place from Thursday, June 13, to Sunday, June 16, at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. Rahm is eyeing his first title of the season, but the injury issue has made his availability a bit doubtful this week.
NUCLR Golf, a popular golf tracking account on X, shared the latest update on Rahm's availability, which was first reported by Ten Golf.
"Following an injury in Houston which resulted in a WD, Jon Rahm did not arrive on the grounds at Pinehurst on Monday and reportedly won’t be there on Tuesday either, per @Tengolf. He is believed to have a foot issue," NUCLR Golf wrote.
Last week, Jon Rahm withdrew from LIV Golf Houston during the second round after his left foot started bothering him too much. He was in severe pain due to the infection, and pulling out of the tournament seemed to be the better option ahead of the season's third major. However, things are still looking doubtful for the Spaniard.
The two-time major champion has struggled to win a single event since his victory at the Masters Tournament last year. He won four events last season, but this season has been contrasting for him in terms of wins. However, despite being winless, he has made a top-ten finish in each of his LIV Golf starts and is currently placed second in the season standings.
Speaking of performance in majors, Rahm tied for 45th at the Masters this year and then missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
