Jordan Spieth's caddie recalls 'begging' Justin Thomas to hook him up with the World No. 54 golfer

PGA Tour veterans Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth have been friends right since their junior golf days. While Spieth turned pro in 2012, Thomas followed him in doing the same in 2013, and when combined, the duo has 28 PGA Tour wins and five Major championship victories.

Another common link between Justin and Jordan has been the latter's caddie, Michael Greller. Recently, Greller made an appearance on Golf.com's The Scoop. During his conversation with Claire Rogers, Greller revealed how he began speaking to Jordan Spieth.

Michael Greller said:

"Yeah, I was pretty happy being a sixth-grade teacher, I taught for ten years. I got hooked up with Justin Thomas in 2010 at the U.S. AM, and Justin and I hit it off. And his best friend back then was Jordan, and the U.S. Junior AM came to my home course in 2011, and Justin was too old. So, I begged him for Jordan, and he actually didn't give me Jordan. We still have text messages. He's like, Jordan is going to win this thing and just rub it in my face."

In 2024, Jordan Spieth had a mixed season. While he started the year with some strong performances at The Sentry and the WM Phoenix Open, he was not able to win a single tournament as the season progressed. Spieth's last pro victory came at the RBC Heritage in 2022.
