"Just chills in a little corner"- Scottie Scheffler on where he's kept his 2024 Masters pin in his trophy room
Scottie Scheffler's 2024 PGA Tour season has been one for the history books. He entered an elite club of golfers after picking up six wins before the post-season playoffs, including a win at the 2024 Masters.
As it is tradition, the winner of the Masters can take home the green jacket for only one year. They have to return the jacket to the Augusta National Golf Club the next year, after which it does not leave club grounds aside from exceptional circumstances.
The winner does not get the original trophy either and is instead given a sterling replica. However, one thing the winner does get to keep is the Masters golden pin.
Scheffler claimed his Masters pin occupies an inconspicuous spot in his trophy room. He said (via NBC Sports):
“You only get it once, and so that sits in the room and it’s something that a lot of people don’t know about. It kind of just chills in a little corner.”
Scheffler also spoke about how he had to add a new shelf in his trophy room to accommodate his new trophies. He said:
“We built a couple additional shelves this year which is pretty fun. We were redoing the room as I was winning a bunch, and so we just kind of had to continue to adjust. I got some cool stuff that I like to hold on to. I got rid of a lot of stuff in the last year or so.”
Scottie Scheffler is currently representing Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
