“Just a couple YouTubers” – Bryson DeChambeau lets golf influencer Grant Horvat ‘touch’ the U.S. Open trophy
Bryson DeChambeau shared his moment of joy with YouTuber and content creator Grant Horvat. Grant got the privilege to touch the U.S. Open trophy and also posed with the LIV golfer for a few pictures.
DeChambeau took to X (formerly Twitter) to post the picture of them, where Grant was holding the trophy:
“Just a couple YouTubers,” DeChambeau wrote.
Horvat was fortunate, as only a few YouTubers get such an opportunity. Later, Horvat created an account on X just so that he could view Bryson DeChambeau's post:
“I made a twitter to see this! Haha,” Horvat commented.
Grant Horvat even posted a couple of pictures on his official Instagram handle. In the first picture, he is seen holding the cup along with Bryson DeChambeau, and the second picture is a solo shot of Horvat holding the U.S. Open trophy.
“I touched it,” he captioned the post.
Horvat is known for creating golf-related content on social media. He's got over 613k followers on Instagram and 672k followers on YouTube. He has over 200 instructional golf videos up to this point on his YouTube channel.
Bryson DeChambeau's performance at the 2024 U.S. Open
Bryson DeChambeau showed marvels at the tricky Pinehurst course right from the opening day. In round one, he bagged four birdies on holes 3, 5, 13, and 18, respectively. The round saw only one bogey, and he landed at 67. In the following round, DeChambeau's form faltered, and that resulted in four bogeys. But the five birdies in the same round helped him finish at 69.
In round 3, he bounced back and replaced Ludvig Aberg, who was sitting atop the leaderboard post-round two. DeChambeau dropped six birdies throughout the round, including four on the last nine. Finally, he faced off against Rory McIlroy in the final round on Sunday, with both players hungry for a major trophy.
Sunday's proceedings got intense after hole 16, when both DeChambeau and Mcllroy stood in a dire situation. The golfers had the same score. However, DeChambeau saved his par on 18 with an even-par hole, while McIlroy had an unsuccessful bogey to land him at T2. DeChambeau concluded the U.S. Open with a 6-under 274.
Right after the U.S. Open, DeChambeau, the LIV golfer flew to Nashville for the upcoming LIV Golf Nashville, which starts on June 21. He has had four top-ten finishes on the LIV schedule so far but is still searching for a win. It remains to be seen whether he can turn the tables and clinch a LIV title.
Apart from the U.S. Open triumph, DeChambeau also performed excellently on the PGA Tour, as he finished T6 at the Masters and T2 at the PGA Championship. The golfer is in great form and he will looking to cash in on that.
