Keegan Bradley says his 2012 Ryder Cup suitcase remains unopened, details ambitious plan on when to open it

After pitching Tiger Woods for months, on Monday, the Ryder Cup authorities declared Keegan Bradley as the new US captain. With that, Bradley also revealed his plans to open his 2012 Ryder Cup suitcase.

The Americans lost the Cup in 2012 to the Europeans. As a result, Bradley couldn't open the suitcase of bittersweet memories. The golfer pledged to open it when he wins a Ryder Cup trophy.

He spoke about the same in a recent press conference,

“The 2012 Ryder Cup is such a strange feeling for me because every day but the last day was my fondest memories on a golf course. And Sunday was the worst day on the golf course and one of the worst days of my life. And I got home and I kept staring at the suitcase and I couldn't open it because I was so sad. And the stuff inside the suitcase was just going to make it worse,” [11:14]
“So I put it off and then I kept looking at it and it was just the memories inside there were so extreme on both sides that I decided I'm going to wait, I'm not going to open this up and until I've won a Ryder cup. And fast forward a decade it's still in my house and hopefully, someday I'll get to open it."

Keegan Bradley also revealed that he was looking forward to the 2025 Ryder Cup and will start preparations readily. Bradley will be guiding the US Ryder Cup squad at Bethpage Black in 2025. He will be the youngest US captain since Arnold Palmer received the privilege in 1963.
