Kevin Kisner asks for beer via live tweet during the Presidents Cup play - "I’m out here in the fairway"

Team USA's assistant captain Kevin Kisner asked for a beer during an ongoing match on the first of the 2024 Presidents Cup. The prestigious team event kicked off with its inaugural day, and during one of the matches, Kisner's post on social media made headlines.

In one of his tweets, he cheered for Russell Henley, writing:

"My boy Russ about to start knocking em down."

Intriguingly, Riggs Barstool responded in the comments, saying:

"I got a cold one for you over here on 14!"

To which Kisner replied:

"I’m out here in the fairway come bring it."

However, the assistant captain later updated that while he did meet Riggs Barstool, he was not having the beer.

"I found @RiggsBarstool but he didn’t have a beer. Weirdo," Kisner wrote.

Kisner had plenty of reasons to celebrate as Team USA had a strong start, winning all five fourball matches on Thursday. Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau earned the first point for the USA by defeating Jason Day and Byeong Hun An 1 up, giving their team an early lead.

Russell Henley and Scottie Scheffler followed with a 3&2 win over Sungjae Im and Tom Kim. Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala contributed another point, edging out Adam Scott and Min Woo Lee 1 up.

In the remaining two matches, Wyndham Clark and Keegan Bradley defeated Taylor Pendrith and Christiaan Bezuidenhout, while Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns secured a victory over Hideki Matsuyama and Corey Conners.

Kevin Kisner and Camilo Villegas Clash involved in fiery war of words at 2024 Presidents Cup

On the first day of the 2024 Presidents Cup, Kevin Kisner had a heated exchange with the International Team's vice-captain, Camilo Villegas. The incident occurred during the match between Sungjae Im and Tom Kim against USA Team's Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.

On the eighth hole, after making a birdie putt, the International Team players left the green to talk with Villegas while World No. 1 Scheffler prepared to take his shot. They did not wait for the team USA to complete the hole before moving on to the next.

Kevin Kisner was offended by their behavior and later told Golf Channel's Todd Lewis (as quoted by Golf Week):

"They took gamesmanship too far and over the line on sportsmanship and lose some integrity. I thought it was pretty bush league and I told Camilo that if that’s the way they want to do it, then game on. If you can piss off my No. 1 player in the world, then I’m all for it.”

On the 16th hole of the same match, Villegas had a conversation with Kisner and told him (via Golf Week):

"Why are you being so sensitive?”
“Because I play by the rules,” Kisner said.
"Nothing against the rules of leaving the green," Villegas replied.

Despite the tension, the USA Team ultimately won the match. Heading into the second day's matches, Team USA holds a five-point lead. The Presidents Cup is a four-day event, with the finale scheduled for Sunday, September 29.
