Kevin Na’s LIV Golf team acquire next-gen Korean star Yubin Jang to finalize 2025 roster
The 2024 LIV Golf season is over and the Saudi-backed series’ teams are working to set their roster for the next season. Kevin Na’s Iron Heads Golf Club on Tuesday announced their team’s finalized roster heading into the 2025 LIV Golf League season. According to the official announcement, Danny Lee and Jinichiro Kozuma return to the squad via contract extensions for another year.
Meanwhile, Na’s Iron Heads side has acquired the services of the 22-year-old next-gen star, Yubin Jang, the No.1 golfer from the Korean Tour. The team, which put forth a valiant outing at the 2024 Team Championship in Dallas, rounded off their 2025 squad with the introduction of new blood. Jang, the No.1 golfer from the Korean circuit, gained attention after finishing as the KPGA Money Leader and Genesis Points Champion.
The three-time Korean Tour winner also managed to be first in the Top Ten Finishes in the competition. He also represented his nation at the 2023 Asian Games and captured the gold medal. Introducing Jang to the team, skipper Na dubbed him a “promising young talent.”
Kevin Na said, as quoted by livgolf.com:
“As a promising young talent from Korea, I've been following his career for years and have had my eye on him to join the team. The Iron Heads needed young talent like his to push our veterans, and I'm confident he has what it takes to become a world-class golfer. Yubin's presence shows young Korean golfers a clear path to competing globally against the best, and with an event in Korea this year, his addition is a major boost for our team.”
The 41-year-old golfer also dubbed it “an incredibly exciting time for Korean golf.”
Danny Lee & Jinichiro Kozuma re-signs for Iron Heads
Iron Heads Golf Club finished tied for second at the Team Championship in Dallas. The result surprised many as Na’s squad was considered underdogs for most of the season. Kiwi golfer Danny Lee and Japan’s Jinichiro Kozuma turned out to be among the most influential figures of the 2024 LIV season as they took down Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC in the quarterfinals and Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC in the semifinals of the team competition.
Now, the two golfers have re-signed with the Iron Heads side for the 2025 season. The 2023 LIV Golf Tucson champion Lee’s takedown of the 2023 LIV Golf Individual Champion Talor Gooch and reigning US Open champion DeChambeau in back-to-back singles matches will remain in the Saudi-backed circuit’s history books.
Announcing the golfers’ return to the team for a new season, Iron Heads Golf Club General Manager Martin Kim said, as quoted by livgolf.com:
“We’re thrilled to re-sign Danny and Jini, who were pivotal to our strong finish last season. Danny is a proven winner in this league with great energy and Jini’s emerging talent will be essential as we strive to become a contender at every event. I’m really loving our roster with the addition of our new young gun [Jang]. It’s going to be a fun ride next season.”
The 2025 LIV Golf season will tee off on February 6 with the opening event in Riyadh. Interestingly, Na’s Iron Heads side will also have their own ‘home event’ in 2025 as LIV Golf travels to the iconic Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Korea in May.
