Legendary Caddie Billy Foster hints at scaling back from caddying for Matt Fitzpatrick
Legendary caddie Billy Foster hinted at limiting his outings for Matt Fitzpatrick. He has been working with the English golfer since 2018 and helped Fitzpatrick win the 2022 US Open.
However, recently, the legendary caddie opened up about his plans for the upcoming season. As reported by the UK's Daily Mirror, Foster will only be caddying in a few tournaments for Fitzpatrick from 2025 onward. The caddie said (as quoted by AthlonSports.com):
"I'm going to do a job share next year. I'm 59 next week, so I am going to do a job share. With 26 and 27 events every year, transatlantic, it is catching up with me, so I will share with Dan Parratt, who has caddied for about 15 years.”
Foster further confirmed that he will start his season with the Englishman at the Hawaii event.
“I am going to go to Hawaii in a couple of weeks; Dan will do California. I will do Florida, the Masters and Hilton Head, and Dan will do U.S. PGA and Memorial. I will come and do the U.S. Open, The Open and the Scottish [Open], and Dan will come in and do the FedEx Cup playoffs," he added.
Billy Foster is one of the most experienced caddies and has enjoyed a successful time working with the Sheffield-born golfer.

"He just split up with Lee and just happened to work out. It's so funny. He kept telling me the first time on the job, I'll just do 25 weeks and maybe get a fill-in for the others. I think he's had about two weeks off in four years, so yeah," he added.
