LIV Golf announces new LIV to Learn platform with Discovery Education, aims to impact 500,000 children globally

LIV Golf announced on Friday, September 20, the launch of a new philanthropic initiative called LIV to Learn. It is a program that aims to impact 500,000 children through access to better educational resources.

The program is the result of a partnership between LIV Golf and Discovery Education. LIV to Learn will have a global reach and will provide students and teachers with digital resources to contribute to their educational growth.

These resources will include science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) resources as well as life skills and other relevant tools.

LIV to Learn is part of the LIV Golf Potential, Unleashed Impact Strategy, an initiative to reach 5.4 million young people through golf. The initiative consists of four programs: LIV to Learn, LIV Green, Transform the Game, and the Way We LIV.

Following the announcement of the partnership with Discovery Education, LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman said (via LIV Golf):

"Inspiring students through the game of golf is a core focus of LIV Golf’s Potential, Unleashed impact and sustainability initiative. We are proud to partner with Discovery Education to create new ways to make golf more accessible to young people."

Discovery Education Executive Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Amy Nakamoto said:

"Our extensive experience with major leagues has strengthened our belief in the power of sports to ignite student curiosity. We are excited to partner with LIV to channel that curiosity into learning, fostering essential skills to help students thrive in their futures."

Discovery Education is an online platform that contains a huge catalog of interactive educational resources such as videos, virtual tours, lesson plans, and more.

The LIV Golf Potential, Unleashed Impact Strategy explored

The LIV Golf Potential, Unleashed Impact Strategy was the first social initiative launched by the league since its inception. It consists of four programs, one of which is the recently launched LIV to Learn.

The second is Transform the Game, which involves working with various partners to increase golf opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds.

The third is LIV Green, which supports LIV's stance on making events greener and investing in environmental research.

The fourth is the Way We LIV, the league's vision of sustainability as a pillar of the organization.

In addition, Potential, Unleashed measures the results of LIV teams in these aspects. It even has a leaderboard that takes into account nine indicators.

The team at the top of the leaderboard is Majesticks GC, whose program, Little Sticks, aims to "educate, engage, and empower" young people through golf by providing equipment, training, and mentoring to schools and community organizations.

Smash GC with its “Smash for Success” program and Iron Heads GC with its “Green Up” program ranked second and third respectively.
