LIV Golf Chicago: Top players, Schedule, Venue and more explored for the Individual Championship decider

LIV Golf Chicago will be the penultimate event in the league's 2024 calendar. It will be where this year's Individual Champion will be crowned. The tournament will take place on 13–15 September 2024 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Chicago, Illinois.

While LIV Golf Chicago will feature the 54 players from the tour's roster, the main battle will be between Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann for the individual championship title. Mathematically, only these two are eligible to win the championship and have a guaranteed place among the top three on the season-ending leaderboard. In his debut season, Rahm is leading the points table with 195.17 points, while Niemann is second with 192.20 points.

With two places on the podium already booked by Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann, the race to secure the final two spots has gotten tougher. While Tyrrell Hatton, with his third place on the leaderboard, seems most likely to have a podium finish, he still has to face a difficult lineup. Sergio Garcia, Louis Oosthuizen, Cameron Smith, and Brooks Koepka will be looking to chase Hatton down.

Tyrrell Hatton can't be too complacent with his third rank. He can only achieve the third podium spot if Garcia doesn't win. If that happens, the Spaniard will jump ahead of Hatton.

Garcia must finish 11th or higher to catch up to Hatton. Oosthuizen and Smith would have to finish 5th or higher, while Koepka needs to finish at least 4th. If the cards fall in place, their fates then rely on Hatton's final leaderboard rank.

LIV Golf Chicago will take place on 13-15 September 2024 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Chicago, Illinois.

While the Saudi-backed circuit will be coming to the Windy City for the third consecutive season, this will be the first time Bolingbrook will host a LIV Golf event. This is also the first time that the Individual Championship will be played in the United States. The previous two editions were played in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The tournament will have three rounds and 54-hole stroke play. The Individual Championship will be followed by the Team Championship in Dallas after a week. The seeding order of the same will be decided in Chicago.

What is the payout?

LIV Golf is known for paying exorbitant amounts to players as signing fees and cash prizes. This year the Individual Championship boasts of a $20 million prize purse. The winner's share would be a staggering $4 million.
