LIV Golf League's final set of team roster won't be out until Monday

The announcement of the four undecided teams in the LIV Golf League has been delayed till next week. The four final teams were scheduled to be announced on Friday. However, the announcement was pushed to Monday, a mere four days before the tournament commences in Mexico.

Tiger Woods' is believed to be instrumental in this delay. He has seemingly redirected the spotlight from the newfound league's upcoming season onto himself with his departure. His admission into the Genesis Invitational this past week seems to have grabbed a great deal of attention.

LIV has announced eight teams of its league with four remaining to complete the final roster.

The eight teams that have been fixed thus far include Phil Mickelson's Hy Flyers. The team differs from last year's set-up with Bernd Weisberger and Matthew Wolff pulling out of the lineup to join other teams this year.

Weisberger was incorporated into Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC, replacing Laurie Canter whilst Wolff joined Smash GC, led by Brooks Koepka, replacing Peter Uihlein.

The three other teams yet to be formed are Stinger GC, captained by former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, and Iron Heads GC, led by Kevin Na and Bubba Watson's Range Goats GC. Cameron Tringale could possibly remain with Mickelson's Hy Flyers as he finished LIV Golf's inaugural season as the fourth member of the team.

Exc: Dean Burmester, world No62 and a two-time DP World Tour winner, is joining LIV Golf. He will be on Louis Oosthuizen’s Stinger GC team.

LIV Golf yet to finalize entire program

Even with time available in the off-season and most of the past year, LIV Golf is yet to finalize its entire program. There has been no official word from the LIV authorities regarding the delay or the verdict from the judge on the ongoing litigation battle between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour.

The delay could be assumed to be the result of the technical challenges that come with new signings. It can also be assumed, to some extent, to be the result of the challenges faced in securing locations that are compatible to host a professional golf tournament.

The regions for this year's tournaments announced by LIV thus far include Mexico, Australia, Singapore, Arizona, Oklahoma, Spain and West Virginia.

The initial layout was to conclude the league in September by conducting its Team Championship before the Ryder Cup commences. The timeline of the plan seems to have been extended with the closing venue still discreet.

The teams announced so far are:

  1. 4 Aces GC
  2. Cleeks GC
  3. Majesticks GC
  4. Crushers GC
  5. Smash GC
  6. Fireballs GC
  7. Torque GC
  8. Ripper GC
