LIV Golf’s Anthony Kim targets Brandel Chamblee and the Presidents Cup in single post, slams team selection process
LIV Golf professional Anthony Kim has reignited his war of words with Brandel Chamblee. Since Kim made his return to professional golf by joining the Saudi-backed LIV Golf, he and Chamblee, who is a critic of LIV Golf, have taken potshots at each other.
On September 26th, Thursday, Kim shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he made barbed comments aimed at Brandel Chamblee and the Presidents Cup. The 4-time PGA Tour winner was critical of the selection process for the Presidents Cup, which does not permit the selection of LIV Golf professionals. He used the words "ramble shamlee," similar to his earlier words when addressing the analyst.
Sharing a photo of himself, Kim wrote:
"Congrats to all the team members of the #PresidentsCup. Would be even better w the @livgolf_league players that deserve to be there as well🤷♂️ but still a special event & accomplishment ask ramble shamlee he can walk u thru wat u will be feeling😂#girldad #Gratitude #mentalhealth"
The feud between Kim and Chamblee began when Kim called out the Golf Channel analyst for what the golfer saw as hypocrisy. While Chamblee responded to the American at that time, he is yet to issue an official response to Kim's new statement.
What happened between Anthony Kim and Brandon Chamblee in May?
Back in May, Anthony Kim began this feud when he targeted Brandon Chamblee via a post on X. Kim's tweet came after Chamblee, a LIV Golf critic, advocated that a merger between the PGA Tour and the PIF "is the better end of the bargain."
Following these comments, Kim shared a post, and he called out the Golf Channel analyst for " hypocrisy." The 39-year-old golfer used strong words in his post. He wrote:
"Ramble Chamblee @chambleebrandel ur such a p***y 4 beating on ur chest and basically saying never retreat & hypocritically retreat. It is well known this talentless fool is disliked by most people in the golf world. U still gonna cover golf if @livgolf_league is involved?”
Chamblee responded to this with a post that said Kim's statements about him were inaccurate. He also expressed displeasure over the language Kim used in his tweet. He wrote,
"This is about as inaccurate as a lot of Mickelson’s drives and sadly ironical coming two tweets after you asked for advice on raising your daughter that you would refer to someone as a female body part in a juvenile attempt to denigrate them. It’s clear that you were not offered disability for your pithy takes."
The golf analyst added he thinks a merger is a good idea as Saudi Arabia won't be turning away from the game and will continue to be a threat and " dilute the product of the PGA Tour."
He further advised Kim to get back on the golf course and wow the world with his talent like he formerly did.
