LIV golf star Brooks Koepka to play at his “favorite course in the world”
LIV Golf professional Brooks Koepka is set to return to his favorite golf course in the world. He has registered himself for the upcoming Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will be played from October 3 to 6 at three golf courses in St. Andrews, Scotland, UK. Koepka will make his fifth start at the tournament.
On Tuesday, September 10, Koepka confirmed his participation in an official statement. He said, as per the Alfred Dunhill Links:
"I've been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year."
"I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favourite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it, " he added.
Koepka has tasted success in Scotland in the past. In 2013, he won the DP World Tour's Scottish Hydro Challenge at Spey Valley, when he was just 23. He played the Alfred Dunhill Links four times, including the runner-up finish in 2014.
"The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic," Koepka added. "I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me."
Besides, Koepka is the second LIV Golf professional after Tyrrell Hatton to confirm his name for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The tournament will feature other top names like Robert MacIntyre, Rory McIlroy, and defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick.
When will Brooks Koepka play next?
Brooks Koepka will be in action this week in LIV Golf Chicago. The penultimate event of the season will tee off on Friday, September 13, at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Brooks Koepka has collected just 126 points after twelve events this season and is seventh in the season standings. He is 69 points behind the leader, Jon Rahm, and is out of the race for the 2024 LIV Golf Individual Championship.
Koepka won two events this season and became the winningest player on the Saudi-backed circuit. However, he had mediocre results at the major championships, failing to secure a top-25 finish. His best results in majors this year were 26th place at both the PGA Championship and the US Open.
