LIV Golf star Richard Bland teases “rebrand” of Cleeks GC

Cleeks GC, the LIV Golf team that features star golfer Richard Bland, will be undergoing a change this offseason. They finished 11th out of 13 possible teams at the LIV Golf Dallas team championship, and Bland is looking to shake things up for the 2025 season.

Bland said it would be "a bit of a rebrand, a new logo,” shared journalist Josh Carpenter. The team may change members, as there is some overhaul of team rosters every year thanks to the free agency and trading aspect. But the main change will be in how the team's brand looks, according to the veteran golfer.

Martin Kaymer is the Cleeks GC captain, and he was joined on the 2024 roster by Bland, Adrian Meronk, and Kalle Samooja. The team could, in a few different ways, look different in 2025.

Another golf fan account on X noted that Bland only casually dropped what is admittedly big news. The fan went on to say that Cleeks likely wouldn't be the only LIV team to change things up for the future.

There has been no confirmation of any changes to the LIV Golf teams' branding and logos for the 2025 season as of now.

Richard Bland's Cleeks GC lands new team GM

While the branding of the team will change for Cleeks GC, according to Richard Bland, there have already been changes afoot in other matters. Bland and Martin Kaymer's LIV Golf team is one of a few that have landed new team general managers. In this case, it is former Minecraft CEO Jonas Martensson.

Martensson, who was involved with one of the most successful video games of all time, said (via Golf Monthly):

“Golf has always been a significant part of my life. The transition from gaming to golf will be a fun challenge, and I look forward to leveraging my consumer-facing experience in gaming and merchandise to help grow the Cleeks brand and fan engagement.”

This is one of the biggest changes for LIV moving forward, as Martensson is one of the biggest additions. There are five teams getting new GMs next season. These are Jon Rahm's Legion XIII, Cam Smith's Ripper GC, Stinger GC, and Iron Heads GC. However, arguably none of them have landed someone as prestigious as has Cleeks GC.

The LIV season has officially concluded, so now is the time to make these changes. Eventually, some players will move around and change teams, but Cleeks has the chance to look entirely different with a new GM, a new brand, and perhaps a new member or two.

After such a disappointing year as a unit, it's no surprise that Kaymer, Bland, and company want to change things up. Bland has seen a lot of success recently on the Senior PGA Tour, winning two Majors, so this team is not devoid of talent, but finished 11th.
