LIV Golf Tucson: Best bets and odds explored

After a successful season opener in Mexico, the LIV Golf League is back in Tucson, Arizona, USA this week. The second event of the season is set to begin on Friday, March 17 at The Gallery Golf Club.

The event that follows the 54-hole format will see 12 teams of four players each compete. The 48 golfers will go up against each other for the $25 million prize purse. The winner of the event will receive $4 million, while the winning team will take $3 million.

The Saudi-backed series event will be headlined by the likes of Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed, among others. Unsurprisingly, the past season’s top players, Smith and Johnson, are the favorites for this week's tournament as well.

According to the latest 2023 LIV Golf Tucson odds, Cameron Smith is the clear favorite to win. The Aussie comes into the event with odds of 9-1. Having finished in the top five in Mayakoba with a final-round 67, Smith will look to better his form this time around.

The former PGA Tour Players Championship winner is closely followed by LIV Golf season one champion Dustin Johnson. He holds odds of 10-1 despite having a forgettable T35 finish last week.

Joaquin Niemann (11-1), Abraham Ancer (12-1), Paul Casey (14-1) and Talor Gooch (16-1) are the other big names on the odds list. Season opener winner Charles Howell III is another golfer to watch out for at LIV Golf Tucson.
