LIV Golf Tucson: Schedule, prize money and more
The next event of the LIV Golf League's second season is about to begin. The league will now head to Tucson, USA, where the second event will be played at The Gallery Golf Club from March 17 to March 19.
The South Course at The Gallery Golf Club, designed by John Fought, has hosted the PGA Tour's Match Play Championship in the past.
The format will have 54 holes of stroke play over the next three days. The tournament field will consist of 48 players, who will be divided into 12 teams. The total purse size of the event is $25 million, with $20 million in individual portions and $5 million for the team portion.
Winner’s share: Individual winner will receive $4 million while the winning team will win $3 million.
Schedule: The first two rounds will start at 10:15 a.m. MST, with Round 3 beginning at 10:03 a.m. MST.
Telecast
The Saudi-backed league will be broadcast by the CW Network across the United States
The Friday schedule will be telecast live on The CW App and LIV Golf Plus, while the Saturday and Sunday schedule will be broadcast on The CW Network, The CW App, and LIV Golf Plus.
Outside the United States, fans can enjoy the telecast of the Saudi-backed league on LIV Golf Plus. The app is available in over 160 international territories. The app can be downloaded on iOS, Android, and FireTV. Fans can also visit the website LIVGolfPlus.com.
What happened in the first LIV Golf event of the season?
Charles Howell III won the season opener at LIV Golf. Howell shot a final round of 8-under 63 at El Camaleon Golf Club in Mayakoba, Mexico to clinch his first LIV Golf win by a 4-stroke margin. Peter Uihlein shot a triple bogey on the 12th, eventually settling for the runner-up position.
The team event was won by Crushers GC, captained by Bryson DeChambeau. Howell is also a part of Crushers. The other two teammates are Anirban Lahiri and Paul Casey.
Last year's winner Dustin Johnson finished in T-35 in the first event of the Saudi-backed league.
