“Lost to a guy who was literally in jail” – Max Homa’s hilarious PGA Championship post takes a jibe at Scottie Scheffler
Max Homa took a hilarious dig at Scottie Scheffler following a tough outing at the PGA Championship. The latter had to face jail time unexpectedly during the tournament, and Homa didn't miss the opportunity to troll him.
On Sunday, May 19, Max Homa carded a 2-under 69 in the final round of the PGA Championship. He aggregated at eight-under to finish T35, 13 strokes back. The result was in contrast to his T3 finish at the Masters last month, which was quite disappointing for the golfer.
Homa, known for his witty comments on social media, didn't miss the opportunity this time either. He summed up his week in a funny way and also took a jab at Scheffler. Posting after the PGA Championship's final round, he wrote on Instagram:
"Frustrating week in KY. Lost to a guy who was literally in jail Friday morning. Tough look for me. The journey continues in Fort Worth next week"
Scheffler finished T8 at 13-under after shooting a 6-under 65 on the final day at Valhalla. As for Homa, he finished better than last year but was nowhere near the T13 finish he had a couple of years ago.
Xander Schauffele claimed the PGA Championship, beating Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke. This was his first win since the Scottish Open in 2022. Since then, he had many chances to add another title but always lost the plot on the final day. However, this time he held his nerves and fired a 6-under 65 to aggregate at 21-under.
DeChambeau carded a 7-under 64 in the final round, but it wasn't enough to get past Schauffele, who had led the field on all four days.
