LPGA star Lexi Thompson shared a heartfelt note following the conclusion of her final full-fledged professional season. In her message, she thanked her fans and loved ones. She also hinted that this might not be the complete end of her professional career but clarified that she would no longer compete week after week.

Lexi Thompson is an 11-time winner on the LPGA Tour including the 2014 Chevron Championship. Earlier this year, she announced her decision to step away from regular professional golf. She stated that 2024 would be her final full season on the LPGA Tour, marking the end of her 15-year-long regular career.

In her final outing of the season, Lexi Thompson finished 14th at the Grant Thornton Invitational alongside Rickie Fowler. Following the culmination of her final full-fledged season, she took to Instagram to reflect on her retirement and share her thoughts with her fans.

"My 2024 season and last FULL-TIME schedule year is officially done! I want to say first thank you to all the sponsors , volunteers, fans and course staff at Tiburón for hosting us this week at the Grant Thornton Inviational! Always an enjoyable week, and really had fun playing alongside the guys especially my partner Rickie!
"What Grant Thornton does this week to give back to charitable foundations and also grow the game of golf both male and female is incredible. Such an honor to be part of it!"

The 11-time LPGA Tour winner added that she was grateful to her fans for their love and support. She also thanked her sponsors, management team, and family for standing by her side.

Towards the end of the note, the 29-year-old golfer highlighted her plans for the next few weeks as well as the upcoming season.

"I'm very much looking forward to some time off to enjoy the holidays and to enjoy time for myself," she continued. "I’ve gotten a lot of questions about next year and if I’ll play. What I do know is that I won’t play week after week.
"I'm going to take it day by day and make sure I get back to where I want to be mentally and physically. Then I will make the decision on which events I want to play in when/if I decide to."
