LPGA superstar Nelly Korda set to feature in the 2025 SI Swimsuit issue
Nelly Korda will be one of the athletes featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2025 issue. The magazine will be published next May and will feature several top athletes.
The information was published on Saturday (Nov. 2), in a press release signed by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit journalist Cara O'Bleness. At the same time, the magazine's Instagram account announced Nelly Korda's debut as its model in 2025.
According to the information, Nelly Korda is doing her photo shoot this Saturday in Boca Raton, Florida. MJ Day, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editor-in-Chief, had this to say about Nelly Korda and other athletes modeling in the upcoming issue:
"We are thrilled to launch our shoot season for the 2025 issue with an extraordinary lineup of powerful female athletes. This remarkable group, featuring Olympic medalists, world champions, and record holders, embodies the next generation of all-stars poised to transform the world of sports."
She added:
"They defy stereotypes and champion equality, inspiring young girls to envision themselves as both athletes and leaders. At SI Swimsuit, we’ve always celebrated the future of women, and there’s no better way to honor these remarkable achievements than by featuring them on the pages of our issue."
Korda has won six LPGA Tour events in the 2024 season, five in a row (one Major). This has already earned her an invitation to the exclusive MET Gala last May.
Behind the scenes at Nelly Korda's photo shoot
Full details of Korda's photo shoot for SI Swimsuit Issue 2025 have not yet been released. However, the magazine's Instagram account shared some images of what went on behind the scenes.
A video clip posted to SI Swimsuit's Instagram stories showed Korda getting her hair and makeup done. An image was also posted showing one of the swimsuits worn by the World No. 1 during the shoot.
The image does not show all the details of the swimsuit, but it can be seen that it is a blue two-piece one. In the same photo, you can read the name of the famous Parisian fashion designer Yasmine Eslami.
SI Swimsuit has a long history of working with athletes and other women associated with sports. One example was the 2024 issue, which featured former professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe, former basketball player Sue Bird, and former golfer Paige Spiranac.
Also modeling in the same issue were Jena Sims, wife of five-time Major champion Brooks Koepka, and Brittany Mahomes, wife of National Football League (NFL) star Patrick Mahomes.
Korda has been out of competitive golf since mid-September due to a neck injury. She is expected to return for the ANNIKA, which will be played from November 14-17 at Pelican Golf Club in Florida.
