Lydia Ko predicts her teammate will look "more fashionable" than her at the Grant Thornton Invitational
Defending champions Lydia Ko and Jason Day will be returning to the Grant Thornton Invitational this week. The tournament is all set to take place from December 13-15 2024 at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
This year, Day chose to shake up the strict dress codes by making some bold fashion choices on the golf course. He has received criticism and appreciation in equal measures for his style. And while it may not be every golf enthusiast's cup of tea, his partner for the week, Lydia Ko approves of it.
US golfer Jessica Korda did a Q&A session on her Instagram where she asked fan questions to the golfers taking part in the Grant Thornton Invitational. One fan had asked Ko what she thought of Day's fashion statements. She answered:
"Honestly I actually think it looks good on him. It's obviously very different and we are used to that kind of athleisure look but he pulls it off."
Calling the Aussie's fashion "very trendy", Ko believed his beard really suits him. However, the duo would not be matching this week, largely due to their incompatible wardrobes as Ko said:
"I would have to go scavenger hunting through my wardrobe to try and somehow match him. I would say he is going to look a little bit more fashionable than me this week."
The change in Day's style came after he split from Nike and joined Malbon Golf.
