Lydia Ko's Hall of Fame induction commemorated with special gesture by LPGA Commissioner
Lydia Ko was inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame after winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. To be inducted, a player must accumulate a total of 27 points through achievements in golf.
Ko reached this milestone at the Paris Olympics, securing her place in the Hall of Fame. Her induction was celebrated in a special way by LPGA Tour Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan, who presented Ko with 27 white roses.
The LPGA Tour shared a photo of the moment with Samaan on its X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:
"After her gold medal victory, Lydia Ko was presented 27 white roses by LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan to represent her 27 points that led to LPGA Hall of Fame qualification."
Players earn two points toward a Hall of Fame qualification for winning a major event, one point for an LPGA Tour victory, or a gold medal at the Olympics. One point is awarded for winning the Player of the Year title or the Glenna Collett Vare Trophy.
To be inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame, a player must accumulate 27 points and also win either a major, the Player of the Year title, or the Glenna Collett Vare Trophy.

Lydia Ko has achieved these 27 points through a very successful career. She has won 20 LPGA Tour events, including two majors: the Evian Championship in 2015 and the Chevron Championship in 2016. Additionally, she was named LPGA Tour Player of the Year twice, in 2015 and 2022.
