Lydia Ko sets eyes on KPMG Women’s LPGA amid her short break

Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko is on a short break before she heads to PGA Frisco this week for the Women's PGA Championship. However, even in her down time, the Olympic gold medalist is preparing for the third Major of the season.

On Monday (June 17), Ko posted a picture of herself looking through a Bushnell rangefinder on a golf course. The 28-year-old sported a white top and a black visor as she wrote:

"Getting ready for (the) Women's PGA Championship with Bushnell Golf."

Lydia Ko last competed at the US Women's Open in May. With a total score of 3-over, she finished T26 as Maja Stark took home the title.

The World No. 3 will be playing at the Women's PGA Championship this week at Fields Ranch East from June 19th to 22nd, 2025. She will be looking to clinch her second title of the season at the tournament. Ko won the HSBC Women's World Championship in February this year.

However, she is yet to win a Major title this year and will hope to change that in the coming months.

Lydia Ko has never won the Women's PGA Championship before in her career. Her best finish at the Major event came in 2016 when she placed second behind Brooke Henderson.

Last year, Ko finished T46 as Amy Yang took home the title. The ace golfer has won three out of five Major events in her career. She came out on top at the Evian Championship in 2015, Chevron Championship (then ANA Inspiration) in 2016, and the AIG Women's Open in 2024. The 2025 LPGA Tour season is two Majors in.

Ko finished T52 at the Chevron Championship in April and T26 at the US Women's Open in May. During the former, she had sustained an arm injury earlier that week.

With three more Majors to take place in the next two months, the Kiwi golfer will be on the hunt to clinch her maiden Major title for the season.

Later this month, Ko is slated to take part in the Dow Championship with close friend and fellow pro golfer Danielle Kang. The tournament will take place from June 23rd to 29th, 2025 at the Midland Country Club in Michigan.
