“Make Kiz permanent” – Fans react to Kevin Kisner’s first week announcing in the commentary booth at The Sentry 2024
Last week, PGA Tour professional Kevin Kisner was at the Sentry 2024, but not as a player. This time he donned the commentator's hat as he made his broadcasting debut for NBC in Maui.
Kisner had an underwhelming 2022–23 season, and as a result, he couldn't make it to the playing field of Kapalua, the first signature event of this year. However, he decided to make his presence known and try his hand at announcing the game.
During the broadcast, Kisner shared his experience announcing Sentry 2024. He said:
"I think I made it. I'm not sure yet. I'll get the full rundown when I get back, but that's fun. That's probably the most golf I've watched in three years. So now I'm enjoying it. You guys are great to work with, and I'm. I'm really enjoying seeing this from this side.
"It's, it's cool to see how much goes into it and even greater respect for everybody in the TV business to produce all this and to make it happen."
Fans online were impressed by Kisner's first attempt at broadcasting. Many asked NBC to have him permanently on the team. Here's a look at some of the reactions:
"Make Kiz permanent."
"Big 'get' for NBC. Kiz is going to be an amazing addition to the team!"
