“Massive anti-climax” – European golfer Oliver Wilson ‘gutted’ by his season-end performances

DP World Tour golfer Oliver Wilson was unsatisfied with his recent season-end performances. Discussing his recent results on the greens, Wilson claimed that his October tournament results weren't fulfilling as compared to his earlier performances.

The American had made the cut in all events since the D+D REAL Czech Masters tournament in August, but missed out on back-to-back cuts on the DP World Tour, including the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters and the Genesis Championship, where Wilson finished at 8 over 152 and 6 over 150, respectively.

While 'gutted' about how his European Tour was 'anti-climactic' to the momentum he'd gained over the past few weeks, Oliver Wilson wrote that he was looking forward to going back home and thanked the fans for their support (via X, formerly Twitter):

“Well what can I say other than I’m pretty gutted! Massive anti climax to finish the season after playing some solid golf and building momentum over the last 11 weeks. I really thought I’d get over the line but it’s been a lot of golf and whilst i’ve managed things well I felt like I finally hit a wall!” he wrote.

"However, my 6 year old just told me not to worry about the golf and just worry about getting home! Bad golf doesn’t hit the same as it used too! 😍😀 Thanks for all the support throughout the year,” Oliver added.

Oliver Wilson had only one top-20 finish throughout the year, which came at the DP World Tour’s Jonsson Workwear Open, where Wilson finished at 16 under 272 with 69, 68, 68, and 67 over the four rounds.
