Masters 2023 prize purse: Total prize money pumped up to $18 million, champion wins $3.24 million

The 2023 Masters’ prize purse has gone up along with the excitement. As the event at Augusta National reaches its business end on Sunday (April 9), officials have now revealed that the total prize purse has been pumped up to $18 million.

The Masters enters Day 4 on Sunday. While a finish on the same day is not on the cards due to bad weather, officials made a press release revealing the final prize purse for the event.

According to the release, the purse has been upped by $3 million from last year’s $15 million. The 2023 Masters winner will bag $3.24 million, a significant increase from the $2.7 million won by Scottie Scheffler last year.

Much like the Masters in 2022, this year’s prize purse will see the top three placers each take more than $1 million. While the Green Jacket champion takes over $3 million, the runner-up will win $1.94 million. The third-placed golfer will take $1.24 million, while the fourth-placed player will return home with $864,000.

Saturday was testing. It required grit and determination. But, the real test is tomorrow, when the final round begins and the final chapter of the 2023 Masters is written. #themasters https://t.co/6jX5NzZ7lu
