Matt Kuchar bizarrely opts for Monday finish despite Aaron Rai winning the Wyndham Championship on Sunday

Matt Kuchar opted to complete his final round at the Wyndham Championship on Monday, August 12. The PGA Tour event experienced a delayed start for the opening round on Friday, August 9. However, play was suspended due to darkness, and the first round was finally completed on Saturday.

Players also began their second round on Saturday, but it was again suspended and finished on Sunday. Following this, the golfers proceeded with the third and fourth rounds.

All the players completed their fourth round on Sunday, August 11, except for Kuchar, who decided to finish the last hole of the final round on Monday. The final round had been suspended due to darkness on Sunday, with three players - Kuchar, Chad Ramey, and Max Greyserman - still needing to finish.

Greyserman and Ramey chose to complete their rounds on Sunday, while Kuchar opted to play on Monday. Kuchar took his first shot on Sunday evening on the par-4 18th hole, marking where his ball stopped, 212 yards from the hole. He will resume play on Monday.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rai won the tournament, with a score of 18-under par. Rai shot a 64 on Sunday to claim his maiden PGA Tour victory. Max Greyserman secured second place in solo, while J.J. Spaun tied for third with Ryo Hisatsune.

Kuchar will play his final hole seven strokes behind the winner.
