Matthieu Pavon signs contract with new sponsor worth $25.6 million

French golfer Matthieu Pavon officially has a new sponsor. The PGA Tour golfer has reached an agreement to partner with J. Lindeberg, a Swedish clothing company that specializes in attire for golf, tennis, skiing, as well as everyday activities.

Pavon said of J. Lindeberg, which has a revenue of $25.6 million (Rocket Reach), via WWD:

“I’m someone who takes pride in my style, both on and off the course. J. Lindeberg has always stood out as a brand that perfectly aligns with my expectations. Their unique approach to design and the exceptional quality of their clothing immediately appealed to me. I’m excited to start wearing their outfits in January. 2024 has been a great year for me, and this partnership comes at a time when I feel ready to keep progressing. Aligning with J. Lindeberg gives me a true sense of confidence and pride for what lies ahead.”

Pavon also noted that there's “a common vision” between himself and J. Lindeberg:

“Their focus on authenticity, innovation, and their ability to stand out while staying true to their values are qualities that resonate with my own approach, both on and off the course.”

Pavon even posted the news on his personal X account, saying he is "really happy" to join and get the chance to "wear some crazy great looks" on and off the golf course.

Hans-Christian Meyer, chief executive officer of the clothing company, said that Matthieu Pavon, the latest partner for J. Lindeberg, is an "exceptional talent." Meyer added that his achievements are impressive and that the golfer aligns well with the company's plans to bridge sport and fashion.

"Matthieu’s exceptional talent, determination and impressive achievements perfectly align with our vision of bridging sport and fashion through the prism of performance and style."

Pavon also added that the casual wear is stylish and modern, which he envisions using a lot in everyday life. Whether he's relaxing or spending time doing activities, he can see himself wearing J. Lindeberg because it reflects who he is.

"On the course and beyond, I like to wear outfits that feel like me and make me feel comfortable. J. Lindeberg’s clothing perfectly highlights my personality and style while allowing me to stay natural and confident.”

Matthieu Pavon said modern golf “combines performance, authenticity, and elegance." He believes golfers have an opportunity to express themselves that other athletes don't through the clothes they wear. It's his chance to combine his passion with style, and he believes the partnership can only grow.

The unique style that J. Lindeberg has planned for Pavon, or the outfits he referred to, are not the first instance of golfers being unique. Malbon Golf, which has Jason Day and other pro golfers on board, has done something similar with its line of clothing.
