Max Homa calls popular confectionery ‘unhealthy’ while complaining about trail mix
Max Homa recently called chocolate "unhealthy" in his social media post. The American golfer, who has a following of 684.5k on X (formerly Twitter), is very active on social media and frequently gives his takes on lifestyle, tournaments, and opinions on other sports, among other things.
Recently, Max Homa took to his X account to share his opinion about Trail Mix. He called it "good" but quickly dubbed it "wasteful." Speaking of Trail Mix, Homa wrote:
"Trail mix is good but it feels wasteful to throw out all the nuts and raisins after I’m done."
Samantha Marks, PR representative for Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TGL series, jumped into the comment section and asked the golfer if he wanted to try the M&Ms chocolate.
"Man, do I have a product for you, @mmschocolate!!!"
In response, Homa commented:
"Idk sounds a bit unhealthy. That’s just candy"
Marks replied back to the golfer and wrote:
"We’ll make sure you have some in the @JupiterLinksGC warm up area. 🫡 @TGL."
Notably, Max Homa will also be playing in the TGL, a tech-infused series. He will join Tiger Woods's Jupiter Links GC alongside Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner. The series was initially scheduled to start in January 2024; however, its venue, the SoFi Center, was demolished back in 2023, and it was postponed to January 2025.
The golf series will feature six teams of four players competing in a two-hour match on a simulator on Monday and Tuesday nights. It will have regular events followed by the semifinal and final toward the end of the season.
Aside from Jupiter Links GC, the other teams are Atlanta Drive GC, consisting of Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, and Lucas Glover; Boston Common Golf, including Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley, and Adam Scott; and Los Angeles Golf Club, made up of Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood.
The remaining two teams are New York Golf Club, with Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Cameron Young; and The Bay Golf Club, consisting of Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry, and Min Woo Lee.
Max Homa reveals his take on 'Golf twitter'
Max Homa is known for being vocal about his opinions on various topics on social media. However, a few weeks ago, he made a shocking comment about golf content on X. He wrote (on October 29):
"Golf twitter has become too negative. I’m going to switch over to politics twitter where everyone is rational and calm."
Again, on November 6, he reshared the post with a meme pic, saying:
"...and I took that personally."
Homa shared the picture along with the caption:
"Politics Twitter:"
Notably, earlier this month, a golf fan attempted to troll Homa by commenting on his post. The fan wrote:
"Shut up and win a major"
The PGA Tour golfer quickly responded to the fan with his witty comment. He wrote:
"I’m trying, dog."
Max Homa is currently enjoying some time away from the greens. He last played at the Zozo Championship, where he finished in 27th position. Having competed in 22 PGA Tour events in 2024, he recorded three finishes in the top 10.
