Max Homa names $85M-worth star as the 'best baseball player' he's ever seen
Max Homa opened up about his favorite baseball player Shohei Ohtani during a press conference in Japan. The American golfer traveled to Japan for this week's Zozo Championship and is playing in the home country of his favorite baseball player.
During a press conference for the tournament, Homa spoke about Ohtani, who has a net worth of $83 million via Forbes, as well as his favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. He shared his excitement about the chance to see his favorite team's game in Japan.
Speaking of his favorite team and baseball player, Homa said:
"It's really cool being here. Obviously, we have two Japanese players on the (Los Angles) Dodgers that are tremendous. One of which is (Shohei) Ohtani, who is the best baseball player I've ever seen. So it's quite cool to come here, I've actually seen quite a few times L.A.hats. So, it's quite neat to be in Japan when the best baseball player in the world is Japanese and you know, he is on the team....I root for. So, it's kind of a dream scenario."
“I would be lying if I said I wish I wasn’t home a little bit so I could go to the game, or a game, but yeah, it’s neat to be here. I’m hopeful to see some more L.A. hats. And yeah, it’s been great, the run they’ve been on, it’s been very fun to watch," he added.
Because of the time difference between the U.S. and Japan, the golfers get enough time to watch their favorite team's games. Homa had previously shared a post rooting for the Dodgers before he traveled to Japan. He wrote:
"The good news about a Dodgers loss? I get to watch the next game in Japan. And from what I’ve heard, that Ohtani guy is big in Japan."
Meanwhile, Max Homa is having a decent outing at the Zozo Championship, which will conclude on Sunday, October 27.
