Max Homa teases former NFL QB while getting his ‘bet’ sorted for the weekend
American professional golfer Max Homa recently had a lighthearted conversation with former National Football League quarterback and current American football analyst Dan Orlovsky on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Orlovsky tweeted he was on a train and had 45 minutes to answer questions about the NFL season.
This tweet from the former Detroit Lions player was met with many questions from NFL fans. One such man who asked Orlovsky a question was Homa. In his tweet, the six-time PGA Tour winner asked Orlovsky a question about the "Pick'em League", the official predictor game of the NFL.
"If a train is going 60 MPH and u have 45 mins to answer questions, who should I bet this week in my pick em league?" Max Homa wrote.
Homa's question was answered by Orlovsky, who asked the golfer to pick the Texans and UConn. He hasn't indulged in the world of the NFL for the first time. Previously, as well, the American golfer had used an NFL reference to question Scottie Scheffler's lead at the Tour Championship.
Also, apart from using an NFL reference, in an interview with Brad Galli in 2022, Homa revealed he became a part-time fan of the Detroit Lions after the NFL team acquired Jared Goff. He shared he was friends with the American quarterback.
Where did Max Homa play in his last appearance on the golf course?
After missing the cut at the Procore Championship on the PGA Tour, Max Homa's last appearance on the golf course came at the 2024 Presidents Cup, held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. In the tournament, he represented Team USA, which won its 10th consecutive Presidents Cup this year.
At the 2024 Presidents Cup, Homa could only draw one point for his team. While he did not play in a fourball match, the 33-year-old lost both foursome matches he competed in. However, things significantly changed in the final round of the Presidents Cup. On Sunday, September 29th, the event featured singles matches and Homa played against the International Team's Mackenzie Hughes, defeating him 2&1.
