Min Woo Lee honors the International Team with fresh haircut ahead of the 2024 Presidents Cup
Min Woo Lee will tee up at the Presidents Cup from September 24 to 29 at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. He is representing the International Presidents Cup Team and has devised a new hairstyle for the week.
As the Presidents Cup International Team posted on X, Lee has a mullet hairstyle for his debut appearance in the biennial tournament. The haircut is Presidents Cup-themed with ‘INT’ sculpted on the side of his head.
The video also carried a caption that read:
“Wait for it …A fresh cut for @MinWoo27Lee ✂️"
Min Woo Lee also posted the same video on his Instagram handle and captioned:
“Mullet szn.”
This isn't the first time any golfer got his team's name etched on his head with a mullet hairstyle. Last year in the Ryder Cup, Sam Burns got a mullet cut with ‘USA’ carved on his head. Also, Brooks Koepka got a mullet cut for the 2023 Ryder Cup but he didn't add any special touch to his hairstyle.
This year, Lee will be joined by eleven more International Presidents Cup team members. His teammates are Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, Adam Scott, Tom Kim, Jason Day, Byeong Hun An, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Si Woo Kim, and Taylor Pendrith.
The International Team will go against Team USA led by Jim Furyk for a four day match. In the last edition, USA won the Presidents Cup with 17.5-12.5 at Quail Hollow Club.
International captain Mike Weir selects Min Woo Lee for his Presidents Cup Team
Mike Weir selected Min Woo Lee for the International Presidents Cup Team. Although it will be Lee’s first appearance in the tournament, Weir showed confidence in the golfer.
Weir said (via Golf WA):
“As one of the most popular players on the PGA Tour, Min Woo is going to be an incredible addition to the International Team… He is one of the best drivers of the golf ball and I can’t wait to let him cook at the Presidents Cup.”
After Lee's selection for the team, the golfer expressed his excitement to play in front of the fans and that he hoped to play ‘some good golf’.
“What I can bring to the International Team is flair and hopefully some good golf… Being on the International Team is very special and obviously being the home side, it’ll be massive to play in front of the fans,” Lee said.
Before representing Australia at the Presidents Cup, Min Woo Lee represented his nation at the Paris Olympics, where he stood at T22. At Le Golf National, his total score was 7-under 277 with 76, 65, 68 and 68 over the four rounds.
