“Missed this lil girly so much”: Brooks Koepka’s wife Jena Sims shows her dog’s adorable face as she returns from her Europe trip
Brooks Koepka's wife Jena Sims was in Europe for a trip, but she finally returned home to someone who was waiting for her: the family dog. Koepka and his wife have one child together and a pet that Sims shared in her recent Instagram story.
She captioned the picture:
"Missed this lil girly so much."
The dog, who is large and black, was curled up on the ottoman in front of the couch waiting for Sims. She and her husband had been in Europe for a family vacation, something they've done more than a few times recently. They posted a few pictures from Croatia.
While the Olympics are in Europe as well right now, Koepka was not competing at the Games. Only a few LIV Golf members, such as Jon Rahm, were eligible to compete.
Notably, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka were left out. Only four could qualify from each country, and without ranking points for LIV events, anyone from LIV had a much harder time making it into the top four. That's why DeChambeau wasn't invited despite outcry for him to be on the roster.
Koepka spent his time off in Europe with his wife. Now, they're back home and Sims is enjoying the company of their beloved pet. Koepka will resume action for LIV Golf Greenbrier from August 16-18.
Brooks Koepka reportedly didn't want to participate in the Olympics
Instead of competing with some of the world's best at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Brooks Koepka spent time elsewhere in Europe. He and his wife strolled the streets of Croatia while on holiday.
Koepka wouldn't have qualified for the Games, but he seemingly didn't want to compete at the event. Per a report from Golf Digest earlier in the year, the former PGA Tour star removed his name from consideration. Internal documents from the International Golf Federation reportedly indicated as much.
Koepka would have ultimately needed to do significantly better than Bryson DeChambeau in Major events, and the latter won one, finished second in another, and placed in the top six of a third. DeChambeau did all that and still didn't qualify, so Koepka would have been much lower down the list.
Qualifying for the Olympics comes down to a few things, but primarily, the top two players in the OWGR are automatically in from each country, with up to four qualifying if all are ranked among the top 15. Koepka was ranked 31st at the time because LIV events do not grant any OWGR points.
