“Not shocking anybody today!” – Billy Horschel goes back on "shock the world" tweet after Florida Gators football team’s loss
Billy Horschel is a fan of the Florida Gators and his favorite team lost a match against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, August 31. Ahead of the much-anticipated game, Horschel had shared a social media post cheering on his team. Following the Gators' loss on Saturday, however, the 37-year-old shared another post that reflected that loss.
Before the game, he had posted a picture on X(formerly Twitter) of his golf bag which has the logo of the Florida Gators embossed on it, writing
"Time to shock the world!"
Unfortunately, Horschel's excitement and anticipation were not fulfilled as the Gators suffered a devastating loss against the Hurricanes on Saturday in a 41-17 blowout. Following the disappointing loss, the PGA Tour golfer had to go back on his words in another post.

Billy Horschel has not been having a good week, as not only did his favorite team lose the match, but he also faced difficulties on the golf course. The American golfer is playing at the ongoing PGA Tour Championship and seemed to struggle with his game on Saturday. He shot an even-par 71, settling in 28th place.

This week, the top 30 PGA Tour golfers are competing in the final FedEx Cup playoff event, the Tour Championship. Billy Horschel has been struggling with his game. In the field of 30, after three rounds, he finds himself 28th on the leaderboard.
Horschel had a poor start, carding a 73 on Day 1. He started with a bogey on the first hole and added another bogey on the seventh. Although he got some relief with a birdie on the eighth, things again slipped away as he made two more bogeys on the back nine. He shot four bogeys and just two birdies in the first round of the Tour Championship, finishing with a 2-over par 73.
In the second round, things improved but not enough to land him in a strong position on the leaderboard. He started the second round with a bogey on the first hole, followed by a birdie on the next. He shot two bogeys and two birdies on the front nine and two birdies on the back for a 2-under 69.
On Saturday, Horschel shot a double bogey on the first hole and then a bogey on the third. He made three bogeys, one double bogey, an eagle, and three birdies for an even-par 71.
With a total of 1-under, Horschel sits in 28th place after three rounds. Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler has taken the lead with a score of 26-under. Collin Morikawa is in second place, followed by Sahith Theegala and Xander Schauffele. The final round of the Tour Championship will take place on Sunday, September 1, at the East Lake Golf Club.
