Olympics-bound Joaquin Niemann says LIV Golf is ‘growing in the right direction’ after offering a solution for the major problem
Joaquin Niemann had previously addressed the Major qualification issue, which is still pertinent in the LIV league. The issue remains as the OWGR association didn't budge from the decision to not credit points to LIV Golf. As a result, several LIV golfers miss out on Major qualifications.
To avoid such a situation, Niemann offered a solution to the PGA to consider the 10 best guys in the LIV league for the Majors. Now, days after voicing his optimistic vision, Joaquin Niemann has made another remark regarding the future of LIV Golf. According to the Olympics-bound LIV golfer, his breakaway league is heading in a growth direction (via Mirror).
“You can tell it’s growing in the right direction, the direction we want…It’s all because of the team there is behind LIV and I'm very happy to be part of this new process. I’m super excited about where it is going to take us and it was amazing to see all of these people having a great time,” Joaquin Niemann said.
In the same interview, Joaquin Niemann also expressed his thoughts on the Olympics stating that he was excited for the competition starting in August.
“I am excited to play, you don't get to play in the Olympics too often. It is an honour to be there representing my country. I am hoping it is going to be a good week and then we can see what happens…I am excited for it. We have got great players there. It is going to be a lot of fun having us all together there and playing for our countries,” Joaquin Niemann said.
Joaquin Niemann is playing as one of the seven LIV players in the Olympics, with the list consisting of Jon Rahm and David Puig, among others.
