When Michael Phelps revealed what he loves about golf last year
Michael Phelps is an avid golfer. Since retiring from his decorated career as a swimmer, he is often spotted hitting golf shots. The 39-year-old former athlete has competed in Pro-Am golf events in the past. In 2023, he opened up about his obsession with golf.
In an interview with Boardroom, Phelps said he is "just obsessed" with playing golf:
“I’m just obsessed. I got my wife obsessed too, which is nice so we get to get out and play a ton. I’m a super competitive human, so being able to play golf and compete with anybody you possibly play with is so cool. I can go out and play with (Jon) Rahm and he gives me a ton of shots, but I still compete. That’s one of the things I love about golf.”
Phelps is now officially making his debut at TNT's The Match. Over the years, the tournament has featured several sports stars, including Josh Allen, Travis Kelce, Klay Thompson, and Patrick Mahomes.
