Padraig Harrington names the perfect drill to improve golfers' coordination

Three-time major winner Padraig Harrington often shares golf tips on his X handle to help his social media followers improve their skills. The player uses the hashtag ‘#PaddysGolfTips’ with every golf-related post.

Recently, he reshared a video of NUCLR Golf on X on December 9. The video showed a lady taking eight consecutive shots on a snowy evening. Later, Harrington reshared the post and captioned it:

“I honestly don’t think there’s a better drill to do for golfers to improve their coordination. It’s hard to do it if you’re off plane or out of sync. It naturally improves foot work/timing. It improves your grip and grip strength. Plus there’s the added bonus of helping you keep warm.”

Padraig Harrington’s last tournament was the Charles Schwab Cup Championship presented by the PGA Tour Champions. In the event, he finished at T8 with a score of 8 under 276. Apart from this, Harrington had seven more top 10 finishes at the PGA Tour Champions, including three triumphs at the Hoag Classic, Dick's Open, and Simmons Bank Championship with 14 under 199, 15 under 201, and 17 under 199, respectively.

Harrington also played at the PGA Tour and DP World Tour tournaments in 2024. His last PGA Tour event was the Open Championship, where he finished at T22 with a score of 4 over 288. His last DP World Tour event was the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where he landed at T25 with a score of 14 under 274.

Padraig Harrington shares golf tips on social media

Padraig Harrington commented on the ball striking of amateur golfers through an X.com post shared on October 24. In the post, he shared two pictures and a video of himself taking a shot. With that, he wrote:

“A few observations of the amateurs. Most amateurs who struggle with their ball striking seem to be of the opinion it’s all about a good turn(more often through impact)and as a consequence overdo it in a bad way. The vast majority would be far better off swinging their hands/arms and letting their body follow.( the body will get out of the way naturally).”

On the same platform, he made another post of a downslope shot with the ‘#paddygolftips’ hashtag on October 23, writing:

“A drill I use a lot to help with posting up on my left leg through impact. Hitting off a downslope gets you lateral but also stops you from drifting your left knee past your left foot, that horrible left knee dip.”

Harrington has immense experience in the golf world and also led the European Ryder Cup in 2020. He flaunts a total of 41 professional wins.
