Paige Spiranac draws inspiration from Scooby Doo for her Halloween costume
Former golfer Paige Spiranac emerged as a prominent social media personality after her early retirement from the sport. She often shares her fashion content with her millions of followers.
Spiranac posted a nostalgic Halloween look ahead of the festive weekend. She dressed up as Velma from Scooby Doo. The 31-year-old chose an orange crop top, red skirt and the signature black glasses to complete her look. Spiranac also used a short brown hair wig with fringes to turn herself into Velma.`
She wrote in her caption:
"Velma is back!"
Paige Spiranac had dressed up as Velma last year as well. Seems like this year, she has returned to the look that had garnered her a lot of love and appreciation from her fans.
"I think being a woman in a male-dominated industry has been the reason I’ve been so successful" - Paige Spiranac
Paige Spiranac spoke to SI Swimsuit during her photoshoot for the brand's 60th magazine anniversary cover. She talked about what helped her career development and she feels that the fact golf is a male-dominated industry has actually not been a hindrance.
"I think some people look at being a woman and think ‘I don't really like this,’ or ‘There are so many disadvantages.’ I see it quite differently. I think being a woman in a male-dominated industry has been the reason I’ve been so successful."
She further added:
"I’ve used every tool in my tool bag, and I’ve never shied away from it. I created a few new ones as well. People will look at me and underestimate me; I think that’s actually what’s so amazing about being a woman. It’s people underestimating you and always being able to prove them wrong."
She also talked to the brand about what real beauty means for her on the occasion of the National Inner Beauty Day.
"Beauty comes from within and I think everyone has a different definition of what it is. I look at people who are kind and driven and hard workers and they’re the most beautiful people. If you meet someone who is just genuinely kind and sincere, they’re the most beautiful people that you will ever meet."
Spiranac said that she finds real beauty in vulnerability and kindess.
"And I think with the way real life is and how hard it is, so many people are hardened by their life experiences, and so if you have someone who is still willing to be vulnerable and kind and trusting to other people, that’s what true beauty is."
Spiranac first worked with SI in 2018 in Aruba. She had posed in all-black bikinis and monokinis on a beach. The pictures were shot by James Macari.
