Paige Spiranac names 2-time Major winner as golf’s “emerging star” in creating content
Former golfer Paige Spiranac built a successful career in content creation after her early retirement. One of the most prominent golf influencers, she has a staggering 4 million followers on Instagram.
While she is the "OG Insta golf girl" according to her bio, Spiranac recently crowned American golfer Bryson DeChambeau as an "emerging star" in content creation. The 2024 US Open champion uploads regularly on his YouTube channel and his series 'Break 50', where he invites celebrities for a chat as they try to break 50 in a round of golf, is popular with fans.
The first season of the series saw guests like Phil Mickelson, Donald Trump, John Daly, Sergio Garcia, and even Paige Spiranac, among others. The 31-year-old has racked up 1.56 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Paige Spiranac conducted a Q&A session with her fans on her Instagram stories recently. One fan asked who her favorite golf content creator was whom she followed for great tips. She answered:
"On the men's side, I have to go with Bryson. He has emerged as a star in social media which is really cool. Because he is obviously playing at the highest level and also a top tier creator from entertaining content that's instructional. You learn a lot. It's shot well. It's interesting. It's fun. So I do consume a lot of his content."
From the "female side", Spiranac picked Cailyn Henderson as her favorite golf content creator.
"He is absolutely electric on the golf course" - Paige Spiranac on Bryson DeChambeau
Paige Spiranac spoke to Athlon Sports in August while promoting her new subscription platform, Passes. The SI Swimsuit model discussed the golfers she loved to watch and she was all praises for Bryson DeChambeau.
She not only appreciated his skill on the course but also his social media game. Spiranac said (via Athlon Sports):
"I think that he is absolutely electric on the golf course. One, his game is so powerful and interesting to watch. But two, as a personality, he's really leaned into social media and able to connect with his audience on a much deeper level, which a lot of the professional golfers don't do."
She added:
"For him to be doing both so well, he really truly is growing the game of golf and he is the most interesting person in golf currently."
While Spiranac had not spoken of DeChambeau that highly in the past, it seemed her perceptions were changed after she met him in person for her 'Break 50' episode. After that, she called the LIV Golf player "kind, funny and self-deprecating" according to The Mirror.
