Paige Spiranac 'nervous' about returning to competitive stroke play after an eight-year break
Ahead of her return to competition in a stroke play event after eight years, Paige Spiranac said she is nervous. The American influencer played golf at the professional level before switching her career path to modeling.
Spiranac began playing professionally in 2015 and competed on the Cactus Tour, where she won one event. She attempted to earn her LPGA Tour card in 2016 but was unsuccessful. The 31-year-old hasn’t played in a stroke play event in the last eight years but is set to make her return at this week's Creator Classic.
The PGA Tour’s newly announced event will be held on Wednesday, August 28, at East Lake Golf Club. Ahead of the event, Spiranac shared a post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, saying she is nervous as well as excited about playing professionally after such a long time. She wrote:
"It’s the week of the Creator Classic! Although nervous to play competitive stroke play again (it’s been 8 years) I’m excited for this amazing opportunity! The goal is to have fun."
Spiranac is one of the least favored players to win the event. According to Bet Carolina, her odds are +125000, giving her only a 0.8% chance of winning the Creator Classic.

The 2024 Creator Classic will feature a field of 16 content creators. It will consist of a nine-hole stroke play format and the first eight holes will be played as gross stroke play. The final hole will be a playoff among the top four finishers to determine the winner of the Creator Classic.
Paige Spiranac attends NASCAR event before Creator Classic
Ahead of the 2024 Creator Classic, Paige Spiranac had a day out in Daytona attending a NASCAR event. Taking to Instagram, the golf influencer posted several pictures and videos, sharing her experience.
Spiranac was the honorary driver for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 event at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, August 24. She also had the opportunity to enjoy a NASCAR ride.
Speaking of her outing, Spiranac said (via her Instagram story):
"I am emotional because that was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. To hear the cars as they come flying by me right now. … Oh my god!"
Next, Paige Spiranac will tee off at the Creator Classic on August 28. The special nine-hole event will be followed by the final FedEx Cup Playoffs at the Tour Championship, scheduled to take place from August 29 to September 1 at the East Lakes Golf Club.
