Paige Spiranac trolls herself with Donald Trump and Joe Biden's golf handicap debate

Paige Spiranac poked fun at herself after Donald Trump and Joe Biden questioned each other's golf skills during the presidential debate. Her post gained a lot of traction, with many fans finding it hilarious.

On Thursday, June 27, Republican candidate Donald Trump and President Joe Biden had a debate hosted by CNN. Apart from political accusations, they also targeted each other's age, fitness, and golf abilities. Trump claimed he was a better golfer than Biden and stated that Biden wasn't capable of hitting a ball beyond 50 yards.

Spiranac, one of the most recognizable figures in golf on social media, shared a clip of Trump and Biden's debate and used the opportunity to humorously critique herself.

"Me defending my handicap yesterday," she wrote in caption.

Earlier, Trump and Biden engaged in verbal attacks and exchanged comments about each other's abilities given their age. Trump asserted that he had taken five cognitive tests while the President had taken none. He challenged the Democratic leader to a golf-driving challenge.

"He can't hit a ball 50 yards," he said. "He challenged me to a golf match. He can't hit a ball 50 yards, uh. I think I'm in very good shape. I feel that I'm as in good a shape as I was 25, 30 years ago, actually. I'm probably a little bit lighter, but I'm in as good a shape as I was years ago."

Biden insisted that he had a 6.7 handicap, but when Trump interrupted, he claimed Biden was actually an 8 handicap. The former president didn't believe Biden and mentioned he had seen the latter's swing.

What is Paige Spiranac's handicap?

On Thursday, Paige Spiranac revealed that she had a +3.4 handicap. She shared a screenshot from the USGA GHIN website, which tracks players' handicaps.

After Spiranac shared her handicap, many fans online raised questions. In response, she posted another tweet explaining what her handicap meant. She clarified that while a + is better than scratch, a +3 handicap is still far from the professional level.

"I don’t think people realize how good they are, how hard the courses are set up, and all while doing it under extreme pressure." she added. "It’s a different game they play.
"You calculate your golf handicap by taking the average score of the best eight of your last 20 scores Meaning you can still have some pretty shitty rounds and still be a low handicap," she continued.

Paige Spiranac also revealed that professionals didn't keep handicap but it was reported that Tiger had a handicap of +9.

For the uninitiated, Paige Spiranac is a former player turned social media influencer. She played professional golf until 2016 and also has a win on the Cactus Tour.
