PGA of America star Jason Caron earns PGA Tour Champions status in 2025

PGA of America star Jason Caron has earned his PGA Tour Champions card for the 2025 season. Following his T3 finish at the Simmons Bank Championship last week, he secured a spot in the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship along with full-time membership for next year.

On Sunday, October 27, Caron carded a 4-under 68 in the third round of the Simmons Bank Championship, bringing his total to 14-under. Although he finished three spots behind the winner, Padraig Harrington, this performance was enough to secure his PGA Tour Champions card for the upcoming season.

During his post-round interview on Sunday, Caron reflected on earning PGA Tour Champions status and his excitement for the season-ending championship.

"I'm like speechless really, to be honest," he added. "You know, it's just weird to think that I could even get to here. I don't even know what to say. Honestly, I really don't know what to say. This is not my job.
"I didn't know if I was ever this good, I guess, especially of late. Then all of a sudden some things started clicking. That putter that I got started working. I don't know, just kind of happened, I guess. I really don't have any words to tell you about what it means or anything like that because it's kind of shocking."

Caron is the PGA Head Professional at Mill River and manages the golf operations alongside his wife, Liz, who is also a PGA member.

A look at Jason Caron's run in the 2024 season

Jason Caron had a memorable season on the Senior Tour, missing just one cut and posting four top-10s in nine starts this year.

Caron tied for third at the Senior PGA, earning a berth after his strong performance at the 2023 Senior PGA Professional Championship. He then joined the American Family Insurance Championship playing field as an alternate and tied for 31st.

Jason Caron played in the US Senior Open as a local qualifier but missed the cut. However, he put this result behind him with a T3 finish at the Rogers Charity Classic, where he competed as an alternate. This result helped him qualify for the Ally Challenge, where he finished T-47.

Earlier this month, Caron received a sponsor exemption for the Constellation Furyk & Friends, where he tied for 4th. This was followed by a T47 finish at the SAS Championship.

Thanks to these results, Jason Caron qualified for the PGA Tour Champions Playoffs, where he tied for 26th at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. His T3 finish last week secured his spot within the top 36 and will compete at the season finale this week.
