PGA Tour pro Jason Day launches influencer career on YouTube channel with 4 friends
On January 24, PGA Tour pro Jason Day, took to Instagram to announce the launch of his new YouTube channel, The Lads. The Australian professional golfer will kickstart this new chapter as a golf influencer with four others: Jeg Coughlin, Luke Reardon, Ryan Ruffels, and Marika Batibasaga.
Jason Day’s new YouTube channel will feature instructional videos on golf-related content. The 13-time PGA Tour winner and his four friends have already filmed and edited three videos for the channel and the first video is expected to drop next week. They also plan to continue filming in February 2025 at locations such as Palm Springs (California), and Florida.
Besides his four friends, Day also mentioned his 12-year-old son Dash Day, as one of the YouTube channel’s content creators. In the Instagram video he posted, Day said,
“We’re here at the Barn, I’ve got some exciting news. We’re starting a YouTube channel, and it’s called The Lads. Ryan Ruffels, Luke Reardon, Jeg Coughlin, Dash Day, Marika Batibasaga. We’ve got some exciting content to do. Let’s get going.”
Jason Day’s history as a golf influencer
While this will be Jason Day’s first shot at being a YouTube influencer, the Australian pro golfer has maintained an active influencer profile on other social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. His X page has over 539,000 followers, while his Instagram page has over 726,000 followers.
Day’s social media content often gives an inside look at prep work for his games, some parts of his personal life, and brand-sponsored posts. As a golf influencer, his work extends to ambassadorships and partnerships with brands such as TruGreen and PAYNTR Golf.
Earlier this month, on January 2, streetwear brand, Malbon Golf announced Jason Day as one of its ambassadors. It made Day, the first PGA Tour player to represent Malbon Golf as an influencer.
Ever since he turned pro in July 2006, Jason Day has seen a good number of major achievements, with a total of 19 professional career wins. His first PGA Tour win was in May 2010 and he has achieved 96 top-10 finishes. Plus, he once held the number one position in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) between 2016 and 2017. However, his current ranking as of January 2025 is 32.
Day recently played in the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, where he was seeking to be a third-time title holder after his two wins in 2015 and 2018. He finished the recent edition at T32.
